Make a Difference Day – September 2021

Date: 8th Sep 2021 Author: Bev Clear

We spent the day clearing the scout hut at Baden Drive ready for the upcoming face-to-face meetings which we’re really excited about.

A huge thanks to Britaniacrest Recycling who sponsored our event and kindly donated the skip.  Who knew we had so many items in the hut!!

We recycled as much as we could and the local community was grateful for some of the unused items.

Our families also spent time clearing the garden and garage areas, trimming the hedges, and doing other maintenance jobs.

It was also a fantastic chance for some of our new starters to meet and for some of our more established members to have chats and lots of giggles.

Overall this was a fantastic day and really has made a huge difference to our premises and storage.

Although I think nobody knew how many gas bottles we had in storage!!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
