Remembrance Sunday – 8th November 2020

Date: 6th Nov 2020 Author: Bev Clear

Things were slighlty different this year.  As there was no Remembrance parade we all observed a 2 minute silence standing on our doorsteps while we remember those who gave up their lives for us through conflict. Some of the cubs and scouts made Minecraft memorial worlds too.

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
