Beaver’s Explore Historic Barons Cave in Reigate
Our Beaver ‘s group had an unforgettable adventure recently with a visit to Barons Cave in Reigate, one of Surrey’s most fascinating historical landmarks!
Tucked beneath Reigate Castle Grounds, Barons Cave dates back to Norman times and is filled with winding passages and centuries of history. The Beavers, full of curiosity and excitement, were guided through the underground tunnels while learning about how the cave was used hundreds of years ago.
The visit offered the perfect mix of fun, learning, and even old graffiti and a dinosaur all key parts of the Beaver Scout experience. With their torches lighting the way, the group discovered carvings on the walls, ancient stories of the castle above, and the thrill of exploring a real cave right beneath their feet.
It was a fantastic meeting away from the hut that brought history to life and showed how adventure can be found right on our doorstep in Reigate.
A big thank-you goes to the Barons Cave volunteers for making the visit so special, and to all our Beaver leaders for organising another exciting local experience.
