Pathfinders Group Joins Horley Remembrance Day Parade: A Moment of Reflection and Honor
Remembrance Service and Wreath-Laying Ceremony
On 10th November 2024, the Pathfinders Group comprising Beavers, Cubs, Scouts, along with their leaders and young leaders took part in Horley’s Remembrance Day Parade. This annual event is a significant occasion for honouring those who have served and sacrificed for our country, and the Pathfinders were proud to participate alongside local community members and various organisations.

The parade, which began at Consort Way West, made its way towards the War Memorial on Brighton Road, where a moving wreath-laying ceremony and a service of remembrance were held.
Upon reaching the War Memorial, the local chaplain led a reflective service, with hymns sung and a moment of silence observed in honour of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice. The ceremony culminated with the laying of wreaths, including one from the Pathfinders Group, symbolising our respect and remembrance for those who gave their lives in service to our country.
The service provided a valuable opportunity for young people to learn about the importance of remembrance and reflection.
After the service, the parade reassembled on Vicarage Lane for the return march to the Albert Road Constitutional Club. Once at the club, the parade was officially dismissed.
Our Pathfinders group marched exceptionally well throughout the entire event, showcasing discipline, respect, and pride in their participation. Their dedication was a credit to both the group and the values we hold dear as we remember those who have served.
